I received my Masters in Science in Social Work: Concentration in Urban Families from Cal State University, Northridge. Bachelors in Arts in both Psychology and Sociology: Criminology
I utilize an eclectic model, in which I offer experience, empathetic and adaptable approach. I believe in creating a specialized approach and treatment for each individual's needs and goals. Through a compassionate and gentle approach, I encourage and elicit change, insight and self -discovery. My primary experience is working with individuals, families and groups; specializing with school age children/adolescents and Veteran Population. I value in assisting individuals and families to work though issues and challenges that diminish their capacity for fulfillment.
Areas of focus include depression, anxiety, family conflict, trauma including loss and bereavement. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety and school age Evidence Based Practice models (Incredible Years & MAP).
I’m bilingual and provide therapeutic services in Spanish and English.
My primary goal is to create a supportive environment to assist each individual navigate through challenges and promote self-empowerment, courage and self-efficacy to live a healthy and happy life.
